Rod Loder started Control Train Components in the early 1990s. Mike Burgett assumed ownership in 2004, formalized the company name, and established an online presence. In 2021, Mike sold the company to AB Engineering Inc, owned and operated by Alan Bell.
Control Train Components is a collaboration between Mike Burgett and Alan Bell, both long-time railroad modelers who focus on prototype accuracy.
Mike is Chief Engineer of Signals for the Lake State Railway and oversees the design and layout of Control Train Components’ custom projects. He models the Chesapeake & Ohio, James River and Alleghany Subdivisions circa 1965.
Alan is a “retired” Aerospace Mechanical Engineer and machinist overseeing operations and product fabrication. He models the New York Central System, Mohawk Division circa 1948.
